“In 15 road starts, Byron has a 19.3 average finish,” Roberts told SportsLine. “His best finish is sixth.”
Another curveball: Roberts is high on Tyler Reddick, even though he’s a long shot at 40-1 in the latest NASCAR Austin odds. The 26-year-old Californian was ninth in the inaugural Cup Series race at Circuit of the Americas last year after finishing eighth in an Xfinity Series start on the track a day earlier. Reddick has recorded a total of five top-fives in 18 road-course starts in the Cup and Xfinity Series.
“Reddick led laps in two of his previous three road-course races,” Roberts told SportsLine. “He’s getting better on them, and he’s looked great in the new car so far.”
